Larissa Somm has over 17 years experience in the advertising and brand communications industry. She started her career in New York City at Ogilvy where she worked with blue chip FMCG brands including Coca-Cola and Kraft Foods.
In 2004, she moved to Sydney where she landed at Jack Watts Currie, a boutique brand and creative agency that specialised in brand creation and rejuvenation.
After four successful years as Business Director working with key clients such as Goodman Fielder, nudie juice, Fifth Leg (Fosters Group) Discovery Channel and Malaysia Airlines, she was appointed Managing Director of the agency. Larissa helped double JWC’s business through a series of new business wins, including ING DIRECT, Thrifty Car Rentals, and the NRMA (Roadside Assistance). During her time as MD, the agency enjoyed their most profitable year on record.
Upon her return from maternity leave, Larissa took up the position of Strategy Director, and led the strategy across all clients and new business.
Larissa relocated to Perth in 2013 with her family. In her short time there, she has been involved with global research projects in conjunction with IPSOS in the oil and gas industry. She has also worked closely with Dale Alcock to develop their communications strategy.
Larissa has a B.A. in Media & Journalism from the University of Rochester, New York, USA.
